Dim Sum Trolley is not commonly found in Hong Kong now. There is traffic jam here.
At least fifty percent diners are not locals.
Cha Siu Ricesheet Roll (叉燒腸粉) is kept at delicious level, but the shrimp of Shrimp Ricesheet Roll (蝦腸粉) is not good enough.
Glutinuous rice (臘味糯米飯) is still very hot when served. It is a delectable item. Glutinuous rice is cooked with diced mushroom, preserved Chinese sausage and green onion.
Steamed Chinese Chives Ricesheet Pack (韭菜卷) is a vegetarian item. The chives has no taste. It therefore does not please us.
Fried Fresh Milk (炸鮮奶), disregarding the oil on the plate surface, is a very high quality dessert. Size is optimal. It is freshly fried, the overall quality is further enhanced.
Congee of Thousand-year Egg & Pork Meat (皮蛋瘦肉粥) is ordered in each of our patronage. After trying this congee in City Hall Maxim's, you can clearly distinguish whether msg has been added in congee in other restaurants / eateries. The portion is not small, congee base has been boiled for a long time. It is therefore very creamy in texture.
Beancurd sheet Roll (鮮竹卷) is served with one piece of mushroom. But this time the dim sum is average only.
Baby Egg Tart (蛋撻仔) is always welcome by diners. It should still been baking in the oven five minutes before. This is very outstanding.
It is not too noisy in such a high ceiling dining hall.
Everybody has to wait in person, there is no telephone booking for yum cha period.
It is 100% full befoe 14:30.

Wherever we have sufficient time for meal, we will think of dining in City Hall Maxim’s. It is because we need to wait for about one hour in person, before a table can be allotted, no matter whether you are locals and foreigners, teenagers or seniors.
The atmosphere in City Hall Maxim’s is always very good and festive. The restaurant is always full, there are many dim sums on each table. This time, we do not want to repeat the dim sums we have tried before, in our mind. We therefore arbitrarily order any dim sums from the trolleys. Some items are good while some items are disappointing. It is anyway a good attempt. The quality of this dim sum is very average. We will pay more attention in dim sum ordering next time.
